{"id":226,"date":"2010-08-03T10:37:11","date_gmt":"2010-08-03T17:37:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.greatwizard.net\/?p=226"},"modified":"2010-08-03T10:41:44","modified_gmt":"2010-08-03T17:41:44","slug":"we-lied-to-protect-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.greatwizard.net\/?p=226","title":{"rendered":"We lied to protect you"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, we lied.\u00a0 But they were lies of omission, confusion, obfuscation, and nominclature, and thats ok.\u00a0 That is the claim of Congress about the health care bill.\u00a0 Of course the bill that will introduce &#8220;no new taxes&#8221; is now being called (by the same person mind you) a &#8220;new tax&#8221; as a way to justify its existance. $569,000,000,000 of new taxes at a minimum, with $529,000,000,000 in cuts to medicare, while simultaniously increasing Medicare enrollment by 16,000,000 users.\u00a0 I&#8217;m all in favor of cutting Medicare funding, one of the most poorly run programs in the US today, but the Rube Goldberg replacement makes Medicare look like a <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/File:Malevich.black-square.jpg\">Kazimir Malevich<\/a> painting.<br \/>\n\u00a0A new chart released by the Joint Economic Committee shows 1\/3 of the new system at play. <br \/>\n<a href =\"http:\/\/www.house.gov\/apps\/list\/press\/tx08_brady\/pr_100728_hc_chart.html\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.greatwizard.net\/images\/stories\/HCchart.jpg\" alt=\"healthcare chart\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<br \/><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Keep in mind this only represents the first 33% of the bills additions<\/span>.\u00a0 There was not enough room to add the next 66% of overhead.\u00a0\u00a0 We can expect to see at least 2 more flowcharts, or perhaps something larger than 100&#8242; x 100&#8242; to represent our dismal future.<br \/>\n\u00a0This makes the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wallstats.com\/deathandtaxes\/\">Death &amp; Taxes<\/a> poster look empty&#8230;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yes, we lied.
