Whenever those running any kind of an election use police power to hide all the ballots from the people, and then announce results when -supposedly- only they have seen the ballots – those people are frauds, are acting like Stalin-esque tyrants, and their organization is fraudulent. The US Supreme Court had ruled in U.S v Mosley (1915) and Reynolds v Sims (1964), that our right to vote includes not only the right to cast a ballot but also the right to know that our vote was counted accurately. Oddly enough nowadays, the courts seem to not care about our rights, and the voting process is getting shadier. In the vast majority of county primaries ballots are not counted in public, and are often hidden forever from the public. Now, with easily hacked computers doing the balloting, it’s basically impossible to show accurate voter results without going door to door. The whole point of this is that our country must love Josef Stalin: “Those who cast the votes decide nothing. Those who count the votes decide everything.”

Terror 1, Freedom 0
Watching “The Daily Show” tonight with guest Senator John McCain, Jon Stewart commented that the US has not won the war. McCain’s response was “well then tell me who won the war? Do you think it was Al-Qaeda?” His point being that, look, they haven’t bombed us again. But, in my thinking about the situation, Al-Qaeda have indeed won their war. In fact they have won it rather completely. They achieved their primary goal of completey changing the way the citizens of the US live, and they have achieved their secondary goal of miring our country in a conflict away from our soil. But back to their first goal. No on can deny life has changed drastically for the worse since the millennium. Our own government has used fear instilled in the lower intelligence masses to get us to give up our freedoms in exchange for a little secure feeling. Warentless wiretapping, broad powers for military and executive branch, secretive executive orders, and dozens of other evils hidden inside the so called “Patriot act” have completely pervaded our society. It’s heartbreaking, I don’t even have a punchline for this sad end to a 231 year stretch.
